What is mitosis?  This is the technical word for the nuclear division of a cell.  When this core of this cell divides it results in two identical sets of chromosomes.  This is followed by cytokinesis, and the results are two separate cells called daughter cells.  The phases of mitosis are prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.  What is mitosis, it is cell structure that splits to become two chromosomes, and has four stages.  After which they have for the most part equal shares of that components of that cell.  This happens only in eukaryotic cells, and it is varied with different species.

What is mitosis? The first phase is called prophase.  This is where the chromosomes that are typically spread out in the nucleus start to condense and forma a tight ball.  Then the molecules of DNA of the chromosomes begin to interact with proteins and enzymes that help with replicating the genes.  In genetic material, the nucleus is called chromatin and is a loosely bundled coil.  The genetic duplication having already been done now has two sister chromatids.  The chromosomes are visible with a high magnification light microscope.  The centrosomes are close to the nucleus they consist of a pair of centrioles.  Near the end, of this stage the element that encloses the cytoskeleton and nucleus will disappear.  The cytoskeleton will be transformed into a spindle apparatus and works to pull the duplicated chromosomes apart in the anaphase.

What is mitosis, phase two is called the metaphase, and this comes from the Greek meaning “after.”  The centrosomes will pull the chromosomes through the centromeres toward the opposite ends of the cell.  In this stage of what is mitosis, the chromosomes of the divided cell will line up, and the spindle framework will coordinate them.  They are positioned symmetrically on the metaphase plate at the center of the original cell. This is sometimes in two stages called early and late anaphase.  The early is defined as separation of sister chromatids. The late phase is the elongation of the microtubules and when the chromosomes are pulled apart further.  The end of this stage is when they identical copies have succeeded in separating.



What is mitosis, the final phase is called telophase which means the “end.”  This is the opposite of the prophase.  What is mitosis in this stage?  When the chromosomes begin to move to the spindle pole they will uncoil and spread out.  This spindle was made of the cytoskeleton and is deconstructed.  The membrane is formed around the chromosomes, and the mitosis is complete, but the division of the cell is not.What is Mitosis

The process takes place in phases and usually the completion of one stage leads to another. The actual division of the cell takes place in cytokinesis and it is at this stage that the two daughter cells are produced. The daughter cells that are produced are then referred to as diploid cells.

Mitosis is the scientific process, wherein, the nucleus of the cell breaks up into two equally alike sets of chromosomes. In other words, mitosis is the process where cell division takes place for the formation of new cells.

Mitosis is divided into six different phases. They are:



1. Interphase:

This is the shortest mitotic phase involving the cell cycle. This is the phase where, the DNA has been mirrored, however, has not been shaped or reduced into the composition of chromosome. 2. Preprophase:

3.Prometaphase:

4. Metaphase:

5. Anaphase:
